Does OneDrive Photos have face grouping like Google Photos?

Hi everyone!
I've been using OneDrive Photos for a while and I was wondering if there's any feature that groups photos by face, similar to what Google Photos offers.

In Google Photos, I can see all the pictures of a specific person automatically grouped by their face. Is there a way to do the same in OneDrive, or is this feature planned for future updates?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Stay away from Onedrive for Photos. It will spare you a large amount of frustration.
    1. You cannot search for tags. This is a known issue, which Microsoft refuses to implement.
    2. You cannot remove photos from an album, without deleting the photo. At least, that's the message you get.

Google was and will always be miles ahead. I hoped that I could stay within the Microsoft ecosystem, but am really happy to pay an extra € 100. The big winner is once again iCloud...

Thank you very much for your guidance — I truly value it, and I also appreciate the time you took to share it.

To be honest, I'm a big Microsoft fan, and it's hard for me to look for solutions outside their ecosystem. But I think you're right — this feature is just too useful to overlook. I might have to explore other options after all.

Thank you so much for your detailed response and the time you took to explain everything — I really appreciate it!

I truly hope Microsoft considers enabling a face grouping feature in OneDrive in the future. Whenever a family member has a birthday, I like to create a video with their photos to show during the celebration. Having the ability to group pictures by person would make this so much easier and more meaningful.

    Thanks again!

OneDrive does not currently support automatic face grouping like Google Photos does.

    OneDrive Photos can:

        Organize by date and albums

Auto-tag objects/scenes (e.g. "beach", "sunset") in some regions

Show locations (if GPS is available)

But no AI face detection, grouping, or "People" tab like Google Photos.

    OneDrive Photos (as of now):

Does not offer automatic face grouping or face labels

No person recognition, even though Microsoft has the tech via Azure Face API and other products

OneDrive focuses more on file storage and sync, not advanced photo organization.
