"...and have no need of an interactive command line tool to perform their necessary operations on or with WMI."
Yeah? Says who? Microsoft? Well Microsoft users are saying otherwise so Microsoft should just shut up and leave it since us users of yours are telling you to leave it be. The WMIC command line tool is extremely helpful for direct usage in BATCH scripts since it DOES NOT require us to interact with a completely separate CLI like PowerShell from within our BATCH scripts that we execute in CMD.exe.... If you think it "has no need of an interactive command line tool" then I'm sorry but you need to please turn in your resignation letter 1st thing in the morning after reading this...... there are plenty of reasons to leave the WMIC tool alone and NOT deprecate it. So don't feed us that total bullcr*p......
BTW....
I know this feed says I'm an "Occasional" user/reader here, but I'm deffo NOT a noob at BATCH scripting.... don't take my "title" next to my username as a sign of lacking knowledge on the subject because that will just show how little you know.... I write my own automation BATCH scripts for a TON of stuff to speed up my workflow, opening up full work spaces, automating my regular PC maintenance, and automation of application build workflows.
