Here's what you need to do

Effective October 14, 2025, Microsoft will end support for Windows 10 Team edition on Surface Hub v1 and Surface Hub 2S. After this date, these devices will no longer receive security updates, patches, or support, and the Microsoft Teams app will stop functioning. Now is the time to act to ensure your meeting spaces remain secure and fully operational.

Take these three actions now

1. Check your device OS and model

Confirm whether your Surface Hub device is running Windows 10 Team edition. This includes:

  • Surface Hub v1 (only compatible with Windows 10 Team)
  • Surface Hub 2S (eligible for upgrades)

2. Choose your transition path

Select the best path forward based on your device:

3. Stay up to date

Why this matters

Staying on an unsupported platform poses security, compliance, and productivity risks. Microsoft’s recommended transition paths ensure continued access to Microsoft Teams and the latest collaboration features powered by Surface Hub 3 and Teams Rooms on Windows.

Embrace the future with Surface Hub 3 & Teams Rooms on Windows

Surface Hub 3, running Teams Rooms on Windows, offers industry-leading innovation and unmatched functionality. Microsoft has been continuously investing in enhancing the collaboration experiences of Surface Hub users. If you haven’t yet been ready to buy Surface Hub 3 or transition your Surface Hub 2S devices to the Teams Rooms on Windows platform, now is a great time to consider it — our recent announcements highlight meaningful new capabilities that enhance the experience. Notably:

  • Microsoft Edge integration: Soon, you'll be able to access web applications, personal content, and browse securely through Microsoft Edge directly on Surface Hub 3. This integration facilitates interactive and inclusive collaboration with features like personalized login, real-time content collaboration, and secure InPrivate browsing with Edge Kiosk Mode.
  • Miracast wireless projection: Adding another top-requested capability, Surface Hub 3 will support Miracast, enabling effortless wireless content sharing. Beyond sharing, Miracast will support interactive touch and pen input directly from the Hub back onto the content projected from your personal device, enhancing collaborative workflows.

Migrating your Surface Hub 2S devices to the Teams Rooms on Windows platform today will not only ensure you’re transitioned well ahead of October but also ensure your Surface Hub devices have access to these (and other) latest experiences as soon as they become available.
